FLM 110 - Why go to the cinema, when you can watch films at home?

A question that means different things to different people, the answer can be influenced by several factors that split home cinema (watching films at home) and going to a public cinema.

To me one of the most annoying things in a cinema is babies. The other day I was watching 'A Quiet Place' (horror film PG 15) and there was a baby crying somewhere in the room. My first thought was how did the child get in, surely its not 15 years old, then why in my viewing. Like anyone else, fine but really. it was the late showing as well...

Another factor is sound. Now, unless you are. quite wealthy we all know a good sound system is usually the expensive one. This is usually where the public cinema takes the point, as they usually have surround sound and the quality is the same as the ones they used when editing the original film. When you watch a film off a laptop at home the sound comes out a laptops speakers, which aren't as good, let's be honest.

The last main point is the fact that cinemas still make money as the films are released in cinemas before they are available online. Now unless the film gets ripped early, the cinemas usually make a killing and the crowds are huge. For example, when Captain America Civil War came out, the crowds to get to the cinema where huge and tickets were four times as the price the next day.

I personally feel happy to wait a week for it to become online and be cheaper, meaning I don't have to go outside, I can watch and enjoy a film in my own comfortable space.
